Because of technology improvement, people around the world are able to post things online and share with everyone in the world. Improvement has major impact on marketing strategies such as viral marketing. Many opportunities are presented to marketers from social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace. Some businesses has utilized these sites for marketing purposes. Marketers start putting their commercial in social networking sites. However, these things are not what marketers just have done. Examples can be found in NikeID and Rhapsody. Things like reviews/thoughts for songs or products can be posted on users’ facebook index. These reviews then will be presented to users’ family and friends.

People he describes in Japanese term, Otaku. Those who listen then would be influencers for their friends and family, people in the middle.
Marketers can exploit people’ communication using social networking tools like facebook and e-mail, to do what they want. They can influence those who cares. Because companies can achieve the same goal or even better, Viral marketing has become successful. Company do not have to spend same amount of money on TV commercials.
